(Draft for Abstract of the exhibition):
Martin Kunz discovered on a scouting tour invited by the British Council to tour the country in 1981 for discovering young british artists. Besides visiting many young artists, he was specially interested in new sculpture after he has proposed Tony Cragg in "Aperto 80" for Venice Biennale. He decided to select some other young sculptors, besides Tony Cragg, Stephen Cox, Richard Deacon, Anish Kapoor and Bill Woodrow, all names the British Council considered then barely known and questionable to support in an international show, but in the end gave support as the exhibition was presented in the context of the prestigious Lucerne International Festival of Music in the same building at the time called Kunst-und Kongresshaus Luzern. It was for all, besides Cragg, the first international invitation, naturally by the time it was presented in 1982 some were shown also elsewhere.
