Draft for Abstract based on EM ital notes, #15 trsl. by GM, to be reviewed and edited looling also at the MK notes Catalogue of the work of Christa Näher, as part of the project for solo shows of three women German artists (Christa Näher, Astrid Klein and Isolde Wawrin), curated by Kunstmuseum Luzern and collectively entitled Aus Deutschland (“From Germany”). Each of the three catalogues contains a small brochure, authored by Martin Kunz, that illustrate the general theme of the exhibitions. The idea was to bring together three women German artists whose works shared an originality that set them apart from the dominant tendencies of the German art of the 1980s. The works reproduced in this catalogue are representative of the highly original and expressive noir style that Christa Näher achieves through techniques that range from dispersion on linen to the use of the simple pencil. The catalogue opens with a comment by Annelie Pohlen.
