See also MK notes on this and general booklet "Aus Deutschland" Catalogue of the work of Isolde Wawrin (co-produced in collaboration with Germany’s Westfälischer Kunstverein) as part of the project for solo shows of three women German artists (Isolde Wawrin, Christa Näher and Astrid Klein), curated by Kunstmuseum Luzern and collectively entitled Aus Deutschland (“From Germany”). Each of the three catalogues contains a small brochure, authored by Martin Kunz, that illustrates the general theme of the exhibitions. The idea was to bring together three women German artists whose works shared an originality that set them apart from the dominant tendencies of the German art of the 1980s. The catalogue contains a brief introductory essay by Thomas Deecke and presents the works which the artist showed in the Lucerne exhibition of 1984. The artist’s works (of large format) are made exclusively with paper, both by working it into forms of three-dimensional sculpture, and by its use as a support for two-dimensional paintings to be exhibited on walls.
